FUNAAB Begins Admission Screening As Workers Return To Work |PoliFocus

There are indications that normalcy has returned to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State following a truce reached by the management and some staff unions in the institution.

This comes as the university says that its 2016/2017 pre-admission screening has commenced.
According to TODAY.ng, some workers, especially members of the three non-teaching staff unions under the auspices of the Joint Action Committee, had a few weeks ago protested against the poor welfare conditions in the ivory tower.

The protest had resulted in the crippling of academic and business activities in the university.

The unions are the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, National Association of Academic Technologists and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions.

But in a statement on Monday, the university, through its Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Emi’ Alawode, said peace had returned the school.

According to her, members of staff as well as business operators are back to their normal post and businesses.

Alawode, who said the management had addressed many of the welfare issues raised by the workers, added that it would continue to provide the right working environment for its workforce.

Meanwhile, the statement also advised candidates seeking admission to the institution this year to visit its website unaab.edu.ng for details of the process.

According to Alawode, already the management of the university has fixed between July 25 and 27 for the screening.
