Angry customers of telecoms giant, MTN Nigeria,
Wednesday unleashed their fury on the Owerri business office of the company destroying facilities in the office.
Resident of the state capital, Owerri woke up to
rampant incidents of barred lines leading to near chaos in the city.
The situation added to the already tense economic situation in the state.
The attendant rush to the MTN business office by hundreds of subscribers to get their lines reconnected led to a massive crowd of subscribers struggling for space at the MTN office.
An eyewitness said that officials at the MTN office were totally clueless in the face of the new challenge and could hardly offer any help to the swelling crowd of subscribers who besieged their office.
Frustrated by the surging crowd of subscribers who could not maintain any orderly line, some personnel of the MTN attempted to disperse the subscribers but failed.
