PoliFocus' Daily Quotes This Day 2nd of December, 2015

"Power is transient"

Position and power go pari passu. You should this that power does not lies with the high cadres only.

If you don't believe this, try to fight with the messenger to the Managing Director (MD) of the office that submit a project proposal or job application to. [Chuckles]

Back to my point, the position you are on now today, another person will be there tomorrow. Nothing lasts forever.

You might have gotten to the position by grace, hardwork, recommendation or sheer luck but the lives that you touch positively and your input(s) will be the legacy you leave behind when you are gone.

If you have been using your position to oppress your subordinates, please desist from it.

I remember a former Minister for Police Affairs from Ekiti State during the administration of the former president Goodluck Jonathan.

He controlled all the structure of police from the top most, which is Inspector General (IG) to the least, police constable.

He resigned his position to contest the gubernatorial election in his state.

But lo and behold, he was tear-gased by a constable in the build up to the gubernatorial election, during primary election in the same week that he resigned as the Minister.

This is a common saying in yoruba parlance that goes thus "Ofisi lo ma n re yin akowe" by direct interpretation "office outlived its occupant.

Do your best while in office because the incumbent holder of an office today will be former or ex tomorrow.

Have a nice day at work or in school,
Thanks.
