Ondo governor orders recruitment of 1,050 teachers

Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has ordered the recruitment of 1,050 teachers in the state even as no fewer than 2,500 teaching and non-teaching staff of the Ondo State Teaching Commission (TESCOM) have been promoted.

Governor Mimiko, at a stakeholders meeting in Akure, on Tuesday, said government would also do everything within its power to encourage teachers in the state to enable them perform to expectation.

Mimiko had earlier relayed the recruitment order through his deputy, Alhaji Abdulazeez Oluboyo, at the kick-off ceremony of the presentation of letters of promotion to the staff of public secondary schools in the state.

“As we all know, education is the holistic training of the child to fully integrate him as a social being in the community.

Hence, in every human society, the education industry takes the greatest investment of all and this has remained the guiding principle of my administration," he said.

The event he said was vital and important because it was meant to appreciate "our men and women who have continued to render selfless services and completely dedicated themselves to the uplift of education in the state.”
