Fayose Declares 3-day Prayers As Death Toll In Varsity Student Accident Rises |PoliFocus

The death toll in the road crash that claimed six students of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, on Monday has increased to seven just as the state government declared a three-day prayers.


Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose declared a 3-day prayers for the repose souls of the departed.

The victims said to be final year Engineering students of the school were said to be returning from an outing when their Lexus car rammed into a bus belonging to a private school in front of the school.

Fayose, while on a sympathy visit to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital,(EKSUTH), said the prayer was also meant to forestall a recurrence of suchterrible incidences.

He expressed regrets that the accident claimed seven precious lives of the students as of Tuesday, even as two other remaining occupants are still battling with life.

Our correspondent observed gloomy picture at the hospital as sympathizers besieged the health facilities to confirm the identities of those on admission.
