Man Butchers Mother, Brother's Wife In Kwara As Two Arrested For Possession Of Human Head |PoliFocus

A Fulani herdsman, Abubakar Usman, has allegedly butchered his 65 year old mother, Khadijat Usman of Mamba Fulani Camp in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State to death.


Also allegedly butchered alongside his mum was his elder brother's wife, Ramatu Shagari, of the same Mamba Fulani camp.The 25 year old suspect was said to have killed the duo after butchering one cow in the camp for no just cause.

Briefing newsmen on the arrest of the suspect, the state commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Olusola Amore, said the command was not in position to determine the mental state of the Fulani man but stressed that investigation was still ongoing.

He said the suspect would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the police investigation.

In a chat with City Rove, the suspect admitted that he butchered both his mother and the elder brother's wife but could not confirm whether they died immediately or not.

The Fulani herdsman said, "On the day of the incidence, I woke up in the Morning with N1000 on me. Suddenly, I discovered that the cattle were running away and I pursued them.

After getting back home, I just discovered that something came on me, and I started butchering my mother. Later, I waylaid my brother's wife and butchered her."My father did a charm for me. All I know is that I acted and I'm mentally stable", the suspect said.

The police also arrested one suspected armed robber, Lekan Bello, for attempting to rob the owner of WALEX Pharmacy in Ilorin.

He was in company of two other members of his gang who are now at large. According to the police boss, a locally made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered after he was pursued.

Amore said effort was on to arrest the accomplices while the arrested suspect would soon appear in a law court. In another development, two persons have been arrested by the police for being in possession of fresh human head.

The suspects, Yahaya Umar and Abubakar Saletu of Wobe Fulani Camp via Okuta, Baruten Local Government Area of the state allegedly lured their third friend to the bush and beheaded him.

They allegedly took the head to one Alhaji Kuranga of Muhat Company to buy following which he declined and raised alarm.The state police commissioner, Amore, who paraded the suspects in Ilorin, said a search in the bush led to the discovery of a headless body of the victim, who was initially declared missing.

He urged residents of Kwara to exercise caution and always inform members of their family whenever they go out with friends.Amore disclosed that the police were still conducting investigation on the matter while the suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.According to the police boss,

"Information received from Kosubosu Division revealed that one Yahaya Umar and Abubakar Saletu, both of Wobe Fulani Camp via Okuta were found in possession of a bag. On interrogation, the bag was found to contain a human head among other items."

Interrogation further revealed that the suspects took the head to one Alhaji Kuranga of Muhat Company to buy. The said Alhaji refused and raised alarm."

A search in the bush led to the recovery of a headless body who had been declared missing earlier and which the suspects confessed to have killed. The cutlass used in the killing and human head had been recovered".
