Antonio Conte's side reportedly made a bid to sign the Colombia midfielder on a temporary basis but Florentino Perez is holding out for a £60 million permanent deal.

Real Madrid have rejected a loan bid from Chelsea for midfielder James Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mirror.

Antonio Conte's side made an offer to take the Colombia international, whose future is still uncertain at the Bernabeu, on a temporary deal but Madrid will only consider a permanent sale.

And Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is looking at a £60 million fee to part with James, who is reportedly keen on making a move to the Premier League before the transfer window shuts.
