Christopher Biggins Removed From Big Brother Over 'Offensive Remarks' |PoliFocus

The 67-year-old entertainer was the first contestant to leave the reality TV show on Friday after apparently making a number of offensive comments.

But a statement from Channel 5 did not address the nature of the comments, and host Emma Willis confirmed during the show on Friday that details surrounding his eviction will be revealed on Saturday.


It said: "Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house."

It said Biggins "has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public", adding: "Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence".

According to Sky News, Grant Bovey lost a public vote and was the first contestant evictedEarlier this week, Biggins triggered a furious response online after comments hemade about bisexual people were broadcast.

The TV and pantomime star, who is gay, said: "I think the worst type though is, I'm afraid to say, the bisexuals."What it is is people not wanting to admit they are gay.

"Mob Wives star Renee Graziano replied:"That upsets me. You have to pick a team."Biggins had been granted immunity from eviction after successfully completing a task which involved him being the secret boss of the house.

A transcript of the supposed exchange between Biggins and the other contestants in which he makes reference to Nazi concentration camps and other racist comments was posted on social media but was said by Channel 5 to be "fake".

Grant Bovey, former husband of TV presenter Anthea Turner, lost the public vote against DJ James Whale and was evicted on Friday night.
