The award debuted in Lagos but has since been holding ground in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
MAMA 2016 will take place at Northgate Ticketpro Dome on Saturday, October 22nd.
During the press conference in Johannesburg on Tuesday, the decision to move the event from the coast to the heart of South Africa was announced.
