Ekiti varsity to become paperless university soon – VC

The Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, has reiterated his commitment to transform the institution to an e-friendly environment.

This according to him, will see almost all activities on campus ranging from management communication, Senate and council meetings, Students admission process, examinations and records to follow the global trend of electronic documentation and recordings.

Prof. Bandele reiterated this while receiving a team of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) experts from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (FUNAAB) which has a distinguished webometric ranking among Nigeria and African Universities.

He was of the belief of the EKSU Vice-Chancellor that (FUNAAB) could share its experience with his institution.

Prof. Bandele said he was aware of the weakness of the EKSU ICT Directorate and the need to galvanize its functions and increase the capacity of staff for optimum performance which informed his decision to declare a state of emergency in the ICT Directorate.

Prof. Bandele said a well-deployed university portal would take care of wastages, fraud and financial mismanagement as well as boost management capacity and make enrollment, payment of fees, registration and other functions easy for students.
