The governor gave the breakdown of the figure to comprise of 1,401 expected to be recruited to teach in the secondary schools, 1,314 in the SUBEB and 87 to be employed in the Science and technical education board.

He said the recruitment of teachers was part of an over all plan to reposition the education sector which he insisted was priority of his administration.

The governor noted that most schools especially those located in the rural areas across the state are not conducive for teaching and learning adding “Government decided to phase the rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools”.
