#DasukiGate: Accord Party suspends national secretary over arms deal scandal

The Accord Party has suspended its national secretary, Nureni Adisa, over an alleged confessional letter allegedly written to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ‎by him on the issue of alleged N100 million given to it by the office of the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.‎‎

The money was said to have been received from the former Board of Trustees chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih, by Senator Rashidi Ladoja, on behalf of the party.

However, the party has now said that it did not at any time mandate Senator Ladoja or any other person to collect N100 million or any sum of money on its behalf.

It said that it did not receive the sum of N100 milllion orany sum of money from Senator Ladoja or any other person as alleged.

Accord, after an emergency meeting ofits National Working Committee (NWC)meeting in Abuja, said that it was not a party to the confessional letter allegedly written to EFCC by the suspended national secretary.

“The EFCC and other anti-graft agencies should disregard the confessional letter as it did not emanate from the leadership of the party,” the party said in its communique.

The communique was signed by the party’s national chairman, Muhammad Nalado and 12 other national officers.In it, the party disassociated itself entirely from such claims as have been made by Adisa and went ahead to suspend him from the party.

“Hon. Nureni Adisa has been suspended as National Secretary of the party forthwith while a seven-man disciplinary committee has been set by the party to determine the issues surrounding the publication,” the communique read.
