OYO: Ajimobi Demolished Popular Ogunpa Market, As Policemen Beat Up People For Covering The Scene

Gov. Abiola Ajimobi

Report reaching POLIFOCUS has it that the incumbent governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has ordered the demolition of the popular Ogunpa Market.

The market which happens to be one of the largest trade zone in South-West, not only in Ibadan. Accommodating all kinds of goods that one can think of.

This dastardly act started yesterday, 11th of January. Eye witness account has it that the people that were there when the demolition was on, that tried covering the event using their mobile phones were beaten blue black by the men of Nigerian police.

The attacks on innocent people by the men of  mobile force made to to be inquisitive.

  • Why should the policemen beat up people if what they were doing was right?
  • Should we say they were carrying out the order of Mr. Governor?
  • Why did the governor even stationed mobile police at the scene of demolition if truly he has no skeleton in his cupboard as to the move?

If the government  doesn't want people to witness its anti-people policy, the demolition can be clandestinely done.

My concern is this.... What will be the fate of the shop owners there??? Rendering people jobless all in the name of beautification!!

This ignoble trend must stop now, the demolition of Oshodi market should not be forgotten so soon.

Governance should be bettering the lots of the citizenry, not vice versa.

I promise to update this post with photos asap.
