BBC Interview: Opposition PDP Offers Aisha Buhari Membership Card |PoliFocus

Nigeria's First Lady Aisha Buhari has been offered an opportunity to join the People's Democratic Party (PDP) following harsh commentary made by her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, Naij reports.

Following her explosive interview with the BBC's Hausa service, Aisha has been hit with a backlash, with many criticizing her over her comments while revoking their support.

The PDP, however, has done the complete opposite, stating its support for the First Lady while offering her a PDP membership card.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, likened President Buhari to US presidential candidate Donald Trump while claiming that he "scandalizes women".

Jalo stated that since Buhari claims tonot know what party his wife belongs to, she should join the PDP as they are ready to give her a membership card."

As far as I am concerned, she has done the work of an opposition, and if she decides to join us, she will have a good reception," Jalo said.
