Exclusive: Aisha's Interview: Lest We Continue To Chase Shadows... Kudos For Saying The Mind Of An Average Nigerian |PoliFocus

It is no longer news that the wife of the President, Ms Aisha Buhari has joined well-meaning Nigerians to check the perceived ineptitude of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

She was on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa, where she defiled the odds by saying the truth, which was least expected from a 'direct' beneficiary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

She should have been supporting her husband blindly but alas, she was truthful and related the events surrounding her husband as they are.

She said, after receiving series of complains from party faithfuls and Nigerians she concluded that if her husband Buhari didn't turn the fortune of the country around that she might not support him in 2019 if he declares his intention to run for second term.

She also revealed that President Buhari only knows 5 of out 50 of his appointees! What a pathetic situation. She went on to say that, his husband’s government has been 'hijacked' by some people.

And also that people that are alien to their party, APC, who worked assiduously for the party’s victory at the polls have been sidelined.

In her husband’s response, President Muhammadu Buhari who was in Germany then said, "I don't know the party my wife belongs but I know she is my wife, she belongs to my kitchen, living room and the other room.

When reacting, his Senior Special Adviser on Publicity, Garba Shehu posited that Mr. President only threw a banter but was proved wrongly by Buhari who reaffirmed that he meant all what he said about his wife.

We should allow ourselves to be swept away by the side talks that the issue is generating but the messages in the 'explosive interview'.

It is high time President Buhari and APC leadership sat down and fixed the bleeding economy. Enough of media wars and trials.

People close to presidency should not be carried away by the paraphernalia of their offices, but be telling the president what he needs to hear not what they feel will love to hear.

We deserve nothing but good governance..... Like I normally opine, we can change the change if there is need to change the change.

Good bless my country, Nigeria!
