Ekiti Assembly Crisis: Gov Fayose Distances Self From Lawmaker's Suspension |PoliFocus

Governor Ayodele Fayose has dissociated himself fromthe crisis at the Ekiti state House of Assembly which led to the suspension of Hon Gboyega Aribisogan.Fayose said what befell Aribisogan was purely an internal politics of the assembly, which he said the executive had no hands in contrary to insinuation in town that the lawmakers were pressurized by the executive to carry out the action.

Recall that the Assembly at last week plenary suspended Aribisogan, who was the former chairman, House Committee on Information over alleged hobnobbing with members of the opposition including Lagos Lawyer, Mr Femi Falana , Special Adviser on Political Matters in the presidency, Mr Babafemi Ojudu and the Senator representing Ogun East, Mr Buruji Kashamu.

The suspended lawmaker represents Ikole 1 Constituency.Speaking in Ado Ekiti Friady after the J’umat Service in commemoration of the second anniversary of the Fayose-led government, the governor vehemently denied ever tele-guiding the Assembly to punish the lawmaker for his alleged imperious behavior.

While also flagging off the construction of a new governor’s office, which will gulp a sum of N600 million, Fayose said the project will be delivered within 12 months to complement the existing structure.

Fayose said: “I don’t believe we have any crisis in the assembly. How can you be talking about crisis just because a lawmaker is suspended? Let me also clarify that all that happened started and ended with the assembly. I had no hands in it.

“How can they be saying I was involved just because a lawmaker was punished for wrong behaviour?
