Former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah Buries Son In Anambra Despite Father's Objection |PoliFocus

The burial mass of late Chinedu Maxwell Oduah-Etoromi, son of Senator Stella Oduah, on Sunday featured top political gladiators as well as top religious leaders.

The burial was held in Oduah’s country home at Buwasville Ogbaru, Anambra State despite the protest by her ex-husband, Lieutenant Colonel Satchie Emmanuel Etoromi (rtd.), that Chinedu must be buried in his hometown of Warri in Delta State.


Among the dignitaries who paid tributes to Chinedu were the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki; the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano; andthe Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke.

The burial mass had in attendance more than 100 catholic priests and clerics from other denominations Rev. Martin Onukwuba, who is the President of the West African Catholic Diocesan Priests Association, urged everyone in his homily not to view death as the end of life, but as a transition to another life.

Onukwuba further stated that faith is required in the affairs of this life and without it, death will be viewed asfrustrating and destructive. Also, Saraki, who was represented by Senator Dino Melaye, described Chinedu as a shining star and that God had to take him home to prevent the world from contaminating him.

He further described Oduah as an active senator who has proven herself in all national assignments she has handled, praying that another ugly occurrence of death will never visit her again.Obiano, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, frowned at the untimely death of Oduah’s son and used the medium to pray for a better country and a prosperous Anambra State.Okeke, who was represented by the Episcopal Vicar of Dunukofia Region, Very Rev. Fr. Theo Odukwe, said that the late son of the senator had a lot of worthy virtues, which attracted him to people.

Lieutenant Colonel Etoromi had in a letter and delegation to His Royal Majesty, Igwe D. O. Oduah, the Igwe of Akili Ozizor, Ogbaru in Anambra State, requested for the return of his late son to him in Warri, Delta State for burial.

Etoromi, who expressed sadness over the death of his son and how he was treated by the former Minister, urged the monarch, who is the father of the senator, to prevail on her so that his late son can be buried in his father’s home in Warri.
