Heartland FC Receive Big Stick Of NPFL For Improper Conduct, The Breakdown Of The Sanction Will Shock You |PoliFocus

Heartland has been charged for failing to ensure adequate security & crowd control during their #NPFL MD28 game vs FC Ifeanyiubah. Heartland also failed to bar unauthorized persons, including the chairman of its supporters club, Mr Ike Jacob, from restricted areas.


Heartland is also charged for some of its supporters encroaching on to & throwing objects towards the field of play vs FC Ifeanyiubah. The encroachment by Heartland supporters also led to match officials being assaulted & post-game/video coverage being hindered.

For attack/assault on FC Ifeanyiubah players, officials, supporters by Heartland's supporters/officials, Heartland has breached #NPFL rules. Heartland is fined N750,000 for failing to restrict unauthorized persons of access to restricted areas.

Also Heartland supporters club chairman, Mr Iyke Jacob is banned from all #NPFL matches for the rest of the season. Heartland is also fined N750,000 for failing to provide adequate security & crowd control after the #NPFL MD28 game vs FC Ifeanyiubah.

Heartland has been further handed a N1m fine for encroachment & throwing of objects on to the field of play immediately after the match. A fine of N1m and a 2-point deduction is placed on Heartland for hindering the complete video coverage of the match vs FC Ifeanyiubah.

The 2-point deduction on Heartland shall be suspended subject to a probationary period for the rest of the #NPFL season. Heartland will play its next 3 #NPFL home games behind closed doors starting from MD30 vs Nasarawa Utd scheduled for August 7.

As condition to open Heartland's stadium to supporters, the club must mark restricted areas & hold code of conduct workshop for supporters. Heartland will also pay a compensation of N1.25m,  being N250k each for the assaulted match officials and match commissioner.

Heartland shall also forfeit the 1-point from the game vs FC Ifeanyiubah for gravity of incident & the club’s complicity. The 1-point deduction shall be suspended subject to a probationary period for the rest of the #NPFL season.

Heartland will bear the costs of damages to FC Ifeanyiubah bus and for injuries sustained by its players/officials. Heartland has not later than Friday, 29th July 2016 to appeal in which case if its appeal fails could attract further sanctions.
