'Nobody Can Remove Me As Deputy Senate President' —Ike Ekweremadu Boasts |PoliFocus

The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, on Saturday dispel the rumours of his removal from his position following his trial over alleged forgery of senate rules, insisting that nobody would remove him from office.

According to Information Nigeria, the senator, faulted the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), of harbouring “endless ill feelings”over his emergence as the deputy senate president, saying nothing has happened that could make him lose sleep over the ongoing trial.

Speaking during the Ikeoha Foundation, Adult Literacy Day 2015/2016 Scholarship and Bursary Award at Ezeagu local government council of Enugu State, Ekweremadu stated that: “I want to assure our people that nobody will remove me.

I am there not by my power or might, but by the special grace of God. It is not by our trajectory, so, they cannot do anything.”

He further added that the development shouldn’t make the people worry; stating that his emergence followed due process and the will of members of the senate.

Ekweramadu however, assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of his continued support, one of which includes his continual donation to the foundation, through which he has empowered thousands of people, including widows, within the last three years

“Be assured that we will continue to support you; whoever is your friend will be our friend; whoever isyour enemy will have us to contend with”, he said.
