Police, APC, PDP Youths Take Over Benue House Of Assembly Complex |PoliFocus

Some aggrieved youths of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic, PDP, yesterday, Tuesday, July 26, 2016, took over the complex of the Benue State House of Assembly as controversy over the purchase of N750 million car continues to rock the Assembly.

This came as suspended member of the Assembly, Kester Kyenge, blamed his suspension on his call for an investigative panel to probe how the bailout fund to the state by Federal Government was spent, according to TheTrent.

Kyenge, who is leader of the Consensus for Change group in the House, was handed a five months suspension for alleged unruly behaviour.

Security agencies, including a detachment of the Mobile Police Force and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, mounted checkpoints at over 800 metres from the complex, frisking anyone heading towards the Assembly.

The security operatives also ensured that the aggrieved youths were prevented from causing a breakdown of law and order both within and outside the complex.

Bem Ngutyo, the chairman, House Committeeon Information, said the presence of security operatives was to forestall any criminal act in the Assembly.
